Here in Australia we celebrate father's day on the first sunday of September. This year it is on Sunday the 2nd of September. It's quickly approaching!
I thought for this card i would go with something cute. I do love a cute card, they draw me in like a magnet! I have made this card very basic and simple.
I used our Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder for the background. I thought it looked honeycomb enough for what i wanted.
Tip for using the Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder:
Before running it through your big shot machine to emboss, spray some water over your cardstock. This will help break down the fibres and give you a super deeply embossed pattern. It also helps to prevent the paper cracking and splitting.
I used A Little Wild stamp set for the bee's and cut them out using the matching dies, Little Loves Framelits.
For the word Dad, i die cut the letters D.A.D from both Black, and Soft Suede cardstock. The black sits just behind the soft suede for a shadow effect on the letters. They were cut from our Large Letter Framelits.
I used Labeler Alphabet for the sentiment, sponged around it using Soft Suede ad backed it onto Soft Suede cardstock.
I popped the card front onto my base using Dimensionals to give it more appeal.
