Magical Mermaid Bookmark & Pouch. Onstage Sydney 2018

Hello crafters,

How many of you visiting here went to onstage? If you did, how good was it!!! Loved it! If you couldnt get to one, i do urge you to try to get to one. It's a great day filled with great company, and great products!

Let's get onto what i did for my swaps. I went with a bookmark and pouch. Of course being me, i had to do something that had a little meaning to it, so i used the Believe there is good in the world stamp from So Many Shells.

To make the pouch, you need to score a piece of 6x6" piece of cardstock or DSP at 1 5/8" & 4 3/8". Then take it to your Gift Bag Punch Board and line up your score marks, punch and score along the line. Cut off the outer flaps at the bottom. When you're done you will have a piece that looks like this.

I have sponged Tranquil Tide onto it to get a sea look. I have sponged Sahara Sand for the sea floor, i used Crumb Cake to stamp the sea shells etc. I only have my prototype on to photograph as i was still putting these together in the car at 5am on the way to my friends house. So the floor on my prototype one isnt the best, sorry for that.
I watercolour washed the background for the boomark and white embossed the mermaid on it. I used Shimmery White cardstock to do that with. I also went over the mermaid with Wink Of Stella to add some more sparkle.

Hope you like this project, there was a fair bit involved in making them but i loved doing them.

Hugs, Mel X

  1. Love this little pouch, Mel. Can you please identify the set where the sentiment came from? "BElieve THE GOOD..." Thanks!
